”I appreciate Peter’s humble / teachable spirit. He is a dedicated worker and not afraid to try new styles and mediums. Next year he will be enrolled in the Advanced Placement Art program where he will need to complete a portfolio of 29 pieces.”

The CVCAF Art Scholarship is made available to a student(s) who has demonstrated outstanding artistic merit and is paid annually from an endowment that was established at Shawnigan Lake School in 2008. The purpose of the CVCAF art scholarship is to inspire students to reach their highest level of achievement in their art discipline and to encourage and support student artists toward their creative endeavors.

About Shawnigan Lake School

A boarding school committed to every aspect of a complete education, Shawnigan Lake School leads young people in the pursuit of personal excellence. Its rural setting, north of Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, provides an idyllic location for a learning community of grades 8 – 12 designed to discover and develop the confidence and talents of every student.

The fine arts play a vital role in the development of Shawnigan students. Emphasis falls on personal growth and the development of life-long skills. We encourage students to try a variety of fine arts during their Shawnigan careers, and many achieve a stunning level of excellence. Shawnigan’s superb studio facilities are available to the students seven days a week. Throughout the year, performance students are involved in concerts and festivals both locally and nationally. The visual arts also showcase student talents through national competitions and local galleries.
